The Inaugural IEEE Symposium on Advanced Management of Information for Globalized Enterprises (AMIGE’08) will be held on September 28-29, 2008 in Tianjin, China. AMIGE’08 is part of the IEEE Congress on Services and co-organized by China Association of Information Systems (CNAIS). The objective of this conference is to gather leading scholars in the interdisciplinary study of globalized information management, such as global supply chain management, global electronic business, global digital government, global technology transfer, global information integration, distributed collaboration and communication, global workflow automation, and global IT governance, to share research findings and promote new ideas. This conference is uniquely positioned to address those emerging research issues because:
| |
Globalized information management is multidisciplinary as the aforementioned research issues span such fields as computer science, industrial engineering, information systems, management science and engineering, and operational management as illustrated by the multidisciplinary composition of its program committee. |
| |
It emphasizes both theoretical studies and practical issues; as such, the conference is expected to draw participation from both academic and industrial researchers. |
| |
The suggested research topics of this conference cover a variety of topics in various disciplines aforementioned. |
We invite submissions of original research papers addressing issues concerning the theory, design, development, evaluation, and application of information systems and management as related to enterprise globalization. To promote original research, we encourage submissions of research-in-progress that are innovative and thought-provoking as opposed to repackaging of existing research. Research articles that are driven by business problems and validated with proper research methodologies are particularly sought. For a list of
topics of interest and submission instructions, see Call for Paper (PDF).
The conference will organize special tracks on important themes surrounding global information management issues. Specific track themes will be announced on the conference website. Extensions of selected papers from the conference will be recommended for a fast-track review in special issues for Journal of Database Management (SCI-E and SSCI), Journal of Global Information Management (SSCI), and Information Systems Frontiers (SCI-E).
The conference proceedings will be published by IEEE Publishing and will be indexed by IEEEXplore, EI (Engineering Information Compendex) and ISTP (Index for Science and Technology Proceedings).
